Book Review- From Where I See by Ajay Yadav

There are two kinds of people in this world—one who believes what they are made to believe, and others which don’t believe anything just because other believes those things, and Dr. Ajay Yadav is certainly the second kind of person. I got this book from Author’s paradise to review a few days ago. It starts with Ajay being investigated by police regarding murder of her childhood friend Shruti (Shurti being her original name) whom he met after a very long time on a social networking site. The book moves slowly but steadily towards its end, deviating from the main plot of the story in between. Writing a book which contains a story and a message to the society often turns out to be like walking on the edge of a sword—a little deviation and the whole interest from the story is lost. But thankfully ‘From Where I See’ managed to grip me till the end.
The book is pretty good, but in attempt to send a message to the readers to see the world with logic, the reader gets somewhat lost in between, the suspense that was created by Shruti’s murder was lost in between but thankfully Ajay managed to regain the tempo of the book while moving towards the end. Kudos!
This book is an eye-opener for people who follow the rituals and norms of the society just because everyone follows it. This book puts light on many topics which needs to be discussed such as corruption, Dowry, Premarital sex etc. and it also tells us about the ‘controversial’ history that we read in our textbooks. Children learn only those things which they are made to learn about famous personalities of our country. Sometimes it seems a bit biased but otherwise it was purely logical and correct.
Overall I would give this book 3.5 out of 5 stars because I am expecting a lot of more good work from Dr. Ajay in future like this. If you are a logical thinker, and have the guts to face the truth, do read this book. It is worth your money.
