BEST FRIENDS FOREVER?? (PART 1)

“You know how ridiculous you are looking?” Alia said to Ankit and burst out in laughter. She literally rolled on the floor laughing, ROFL in short. She was laughing like a maniac for a reason—she never saw Ankit wearing such an outfit while going out. Which nineteen year old teenager wears a suit for a date? Answer was- Ankit Malhotra.
“Atleast I am not looking like a potato.” He replied to her, leaving Alia’s face red in anger. Of course, the animosity was unreal but the friendship between them was real. They were neighbors since when they both even haven’t started potty training themselves, but the real friendship started between them when they both turned 10 and were admitted to the same school. They used to sit together, play together, and have their lunch together. It never bothered Alia that she didn’t have adequate company of girls during her teen life and it never was a concern for Ankit that he was missing the ‘guy time’ with other boys of the class. They were so lost in each other that they didn’t realize that they had grown up.
“Shut up, you are not going to wear this on your date. What are you, a salesman?” Alia said to him and ordered Ankit to change immediately. Ankit knew that Alia would never approve of his outfit yet he came out wearing that just so he can hear Alia chiding his choices. He was best friends with Alia for more than 10 years now and there was no single decision that he took without taking her advice. Same was the case with Alia—she does nothing without talking to Ankit first and probably this was the reason why Alia was still single. It’s not that they didn’t get proposals, friend requests on facebook and loads of stalkers online and offline, but they made a pact years ago that they will choose the right partner for each other. Alia thought she found the right girl for Ankit when she first introduced her cousin Simran to Ankit and she even arranged a date for those two after she found out that Simran was interested in Ankit too.
“What do you propose?” Ankit asked Alia, questioning her fashion skills.
“Wait a minute.” Alia said and rushed towards Ankit’s wardrobe, hoping to find out something decent to wear. Ankit was looking at her and smiling, he knew that he wants to have a girl like Alia in her life who is beautiful, cute, and gives almost all her time to him. Alia was the ‘perfect girl’ for him but he wasn’t himself sure about what he was thinking. They were best friends, and he didn’t want to make that awkward by saying something to her that both of them will regret later so he decided to put a zip on his lips and wait for the right time. This was the reason why Ankit haven’t approved of any guy for Alia, regardless of how smarter and intelligent that guy was from Ankit.
“Here, wear this. It will look good on you.” Alia said and handed him a red t-shirt with Wolverine on it and faded blue denim jeans.
“You want me to wear this and go on a date with your cousin?” he said with a doubt.
“Yeah, do you have any problem wearing that?”
“No problem but just a little issue with the color of the t-shirt, I LOOK LIKE A CLOWN IN THAT.” Ankit replied to her, emphasizing his words but they didn’t seem to affect Alia’s choice.
“It is better than your salesman suit you are wearing. Besides, you always look like a clown so the outfit will not do much harm to your appearance.” She said and chuckled. Ankit couldn’t resist smiling too. He knew that what he was doing was not right and his heart wanted something else from Alia other than a ‘best friend’ relationship but Ankit was a practical guy and he always tried to teach his mind about reminding his heart about one thing whenever this type of situation comes-
“Just pump the blood, do your work.” Ankit looked down at his chest and whispered.
“What?” Alia asked him what he was whispering to which he changed the topic.
“Nothing, I will wear these.” He said and made a face. Alia knew it was going to happen so she just smiled and pulled his cheeks.
“You are my sweetheart.” She said and walked out from Ankit’s room, leaving him to change. As she was walking outside she was questioning to herself. What had she done? He looked fabulous in that suit…any girl would die to date such a hot guy. Was she getting jealous of her own sister? If not, then why she made Ankit wear a red t-shirt? It was the only color that Simran HATED THE MOST…
